The Technical Review and Patent Verification Group includes positions that primarily participate in the application of comprehensive scientific and professional knowledge in one of the applied scientific programs, including: actuarial, agriculture, biology, chemistry, forestry, meteorology, physics, including physics, planetary and earth sciences, scientific regulation and patents. 7.2.1.2. DDAA recognizes the importance of the virtues underlying scientific excellence, including intellectual curiosity and honesty, constructive skepticism, thoroughness, bias prevention, humility in the discovery and use of scientific evidence, and the limitations of scientific investigations. To this end, it will ensure that learning strategies support training, education and training opportunities that enable staff to understand and value these virtues. Positions in the science and patent verification group can also be used in part in one of the following programs: agricultural or related sciences, biology, chemistry, forestry, meteorology and physics, including physics, planetary sciences and earth sciences. The Deputy Director and his delegates are responsible for promoting an environment that promotes excellence and integrity in research, science and related activities and promoting a culture of open communication in which workers can, in good faith, disclose information about violations of scientific integrity. The DH is also responsible for: 7.7.3. Identification and prioritization of areas of the Federal Authority where current federal scientific or research capacity is insufficient or where federal investments in research and development are expected to bring significant benefits to Canadians. In accordance with collective agreements and TBS policy on learning, training and development, reference note4: for this purpose, in the design, implementation, management, verification, use or communication of research, science and communication activities of research, science and related activities, DDAA workers : the agreements would cover a four-year period and would include economic increases of 2% for each of the first two years and 1.5% for each of the remaining two years of the agreements. These interim agreements also include new measures to facilitate their implementation and compensate workers who do not receive retroactive payments or wage increases within agreed timeframes. Also excluded are positions that do not require the application of comprehensive scientific and professional knowledge relevant to actuarials. The DDAA recognizes two complementary approaches to promoting a culture of scientific integrity.

One focuses on the insufflation of the virtues that underlie responsible behaviour in research, science and related activities (see 7.2.1). A second priority is the procedure for anticipating offences, investigating these allegations and the consequences of finding an offence (see 7.2.2) 5.2. There is nothing in this policy to replace all relevant collective agreements. Nor does the policy extend the provisions of collective agreements in this area to workers who are not subject to these agreements. The positions contained in the applied science subgroup may also do one or the other research in one of the following programs: agronomy or related sciences. Science: the pursuit and application of knowledge and understanding of the natural world through the application of one or more elements of the scientific method.
